GOLF COURSE TÁLE (2 km / 1.2 miles)

Golf course Gray Bear in Tále is the first 18-hole master golf course in Slovakia. It is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except for the tournament days. There is a handicap limit for the course, with the maximum handicap being 36. The golf resort features additional services which contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of the players and their companions.

 

TARZÁNIA TÁLE (2 km / 1.2 miles)

Tarzánia Tále is an outdoor zip line centre located in Tále. It is set within the area of a mini-golf course. The adventure centre consists of 23 challenges at heights between 5 and 7 meters.  There are three routes to choose from: blue, the shortest and less physically challenging, is 180 m long. Red route with its 292 m is the longer one. There is also a route for children, which is 90 m long and suitable for smaller children. There is an open-air swimming pool and a golf course in the very near surroundings of the centre. Please note the visitors must book in advance outside the peak season (November - April).

 

CAVES

The surroundings of the Bystrá Hotel are rather rich in underground caves. South-West from Bystrá you will find the Bystrianska cave. It is more than 3.5 km (2.17 miles) long, 580 m of which are accessible to the public. The cave comprises of two parts: The old cave and the new cave. The cave tour lasts approx. 45 minutes. Thanks to its favourable climatic conditions the cave is used for speleotherapy (treating asthma and respiratory diseases). For those more adventurous, we recommend you to visit Jaskyňa mŕtvych netopierov (The cave of dead bats). The starting point of the trip is Trangoška (8 km / 5 miles from the Hotel). The trip to the cave follows a mountain trail to Chata pod Ďumbierom and lasts approx. 50 mins.   Visitors to the cave can choose from two routes which differ in difficulty and length. Reservation prior to the visit is required. 

 

OUTDOOR FOREST MUSEUM and ČIERNOHRONSKÁ RAILWAY in ČIERNY BALOG (32 km / 19.9 miles)

The Outdoor forest museum is located in Vydrovská valley, 0.9 miles from Čierny Balog. The museum is set in the beautiful nature of the čiernohorsky region. Visitors can take a 1.8 miles long educational trail with 71 stopping points, each one of them dedicated to one specific topic related to forest and forestry. There are more paths with different lengths to choose from. They inform visitors about the life of the forest, its growth phases, interventions to the life of the forest, historical and current technologies used in the forestry, forest animals etc. A detailed visit of the outdoor museum takes nearly a whole day. A forest railway from Hronec or Čierny Balog stops directly at the museum. The ride is an unforgettable experience for the young as well as the older ones.

 

BELL COLLECTION - ŠUMIAC (50 km / 31 miles)

A unique bell collection is on exposition in the village of Šumiac (approx. 31 miles from Bystrá), in the native cottage of Mikuláš Gigac, the collection's owner. The collection features more than 2,000 pieces. You will find cast metal, wooden, clay and glass bells here as well as knitted bells. Apart from the bells, the traditional folk music instruments, crafts and working tools from Šumiac and abroad are also a part of the exposition. Furthermore, you can hear the story of the life and work of Mikuláš Gigac and hear him play the bells and other folkloric musical instruments.
